Julia Ryan writes young adult fiction set in the near future. She loves fast-paced plots, exploring speculative worlds that shed light on our own, and developing proactive female protagonists and their relationships. 
 
She holds an MFA in Fiction from Columbia University, an MA in English from Bread Loaf School of English, an MS in Education from the University of Pennsylvania, and a BA in English Literature with a Creative Writing emphasis from Swarthmore College. She attended the New York State Writers Institute and the Bard Institute for Writing and Thinking. 
 
Julia teaches creative writing at Phillips Academy Andover and lives in the Boston area with her husband. In her free time, she enjoys reading young adult fiction and eating sushi.
